Davies leads East to win in Reese's All-Star Game

ATLANTA, Ga. – BYU senior Brandon Davies totaled 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists to lead the East All-Stars to an 87-81 win over the West in the 2013 Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game at The Georgia Dome.

PROVO, Utah - After five weeks of spring football, the BYU football team closed spring camp with Alumni Day, scrimmaging in front of former players and their families at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Friday afternoon. 

Poulson, Hannemann combine to beat Santa Clara, 3-1

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (April 4, 2013)—Desmond Poulson and Jacob Hannemann combined pitching and hitting Thursday for BYU baseball’s 3-1 victory over Santa Clara.

BYU (15-14 overall and 3-4 in the West Coast Conference) rode the arm of Poulson, the bat of Hannemann and the fielding of both of them in the first of the three-game series with the Broncos (8-19, 0-7 WCC).

BYU to play in 2013 CBE Hall of Fame Classic

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – BYU will join Wichita State, Texas and DePaul at Sprint Center for the championship rounds of the 2013 CBE Hall of Fame Classic, Nov. 25 and 26, 2013. The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the field today.

The semifinal matchups will be held on Monday, Nov. 25. The finals will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 26, beginning with the consolation game, followed by the championship game. All four games will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.

Gymnasts aim to perform well at Tuscaloosa NCAA Regional

PROVO, Utah – For the 22nd time in 25 years the BYU women’s gymnastics team will compete in an NCAA regional meet on Saturday, April 6 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with hopes to earn a spot at the NCAA Championships.

“Everyone is feeling pretty good. It should be a great meet,” head coach Brad Cattermole said. “The girls have been practicing hard and they look good. They’ve worked hard to qualify and we’ll go and hopefully do well and see what happens.”

Return to California facing Broncos

Now at the .500 mark overall for the third time this season, BYU’s baseball team hopes to do the same with its record in the West Coast Conference.

BYU [14-14 overall and 2-4 in the WCC]  returns to California this week to face Santa Clara (8-18, 0-6).  With the three-game series starting on Thursday, the Cougars could go above the .500 mark in league play on the heels of a 2-1 record last week against Pepperdine in Provo.

Davies selected to play in Reese's Division I College All-Star Game

ATLANTA, Ga. – BYU senior forward Brandon Davies has one game left in his college career, this time as a member of the East All-Star Team in the 2013 Reese’s Division I College All-Star game, which will be played as part of the 2013 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship and NCAA Final Four. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are the official candy partner of the NCAA.

PROVO, Utah – Holding the No. 1 national ranking for the fifth-straight week, the BYU men’s volleyball team heads to California for matches against No. 7 UC Santa Barbara Friday and No. 3 UCLA Saturday at 7 p.m. PDT both nights.

BYU’s five weeks atop the AVCA national poll are the most consecutive weeks at No. 1 since 2008 when the Cougars held the top spot for seven weeks (Jan. 8 – Feb. 19).

PROVO, Utah – Center fielder Jacob Hannemann went 3 for 4 with four RBI to lead BYU baseball to an 8-0 victory against Utah Valley University Tuesday night at Larry H. Miller Field.

The Cougars evened their record at 14-14, while UVU fell to 9-17.
