WAC All-Academic Awards Announced

Junior Bailie Hicken and seven other Cougars earned WAC All-Academic honors, a program record.

DENVER - The Western Athletic Conference announced that eight BYU softball players earned Academic All-WAC honors, a program record for most academic all-conference honorees in a season.

BYU Football Media Day on June 27

PROVO, Utah - In preparation for the 2012 season BYU football will host its second annual Media Day on Wednesday, June 27 at the BYU Broadcasting Building.

In addition to many interview sessions attended by the media throughout the day, fans can expect a day filled with 16 hours of BYU football programming on BYUtv, including new live shows, rebroadcasts of previous specials, online chats, radio content and more.

It has been chronicled here on BYUcougars.com that Shaquille Walker won the 800 meters at the USA Junior Outdoor Championships last weekend and has qualified for the IAAF World Championships in Barcelona. What has not been mentioned is that the second-place finisher who also qualified for the World Junior Championships is BYU signee Tanner Sork from Camas, Wash.

Shaquille Walker discusses his victory in the 800 meter final at the 2012 USA Junior Track and Field Championships on June 16. Walker will represent the U.S. at the World Junior Championships in Barcelona from July 10 to 15.
