BYUtv to Broadcast 2012 Y Awards

PROVO, Utah--BYUtv will broadcast the 2012 Cougar Club Y Awards Thursday at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. MT. The event will also be rebroadcast May 26 at 9 p.m.

The annual award ceremony took place April 12. Highlights include senior track and cross country athlete Miles Batty taking home three awards and men's cross country and women's basketball receiving team of the year accolades.

Bronco and Holly Mendenhall Host Cowboy Ball

PROVO, Utah -- BYU football head coach Bronco Mendenhall and his wife, Holly, will host the second-annual Cowboy Ball on Saturday, May 19 at 5:30 p.m. MT. The Holly and Bronco Mendenhall Foundation, a non-profit organization created by the Mendenhalls, sponsors the event.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The No. 2-seeded BYU softball team will compete in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament starting Thursday.

After a first-round bye, the Cougars will play the winner of Fresno State and Louisiana Tech on Thursday at 2 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast live by BYU Radio with a live stat tracker also available.

BYU has not competed in a conference tournament since the Mountain West stopped holding one following the 2006 edition, which BYU won.

Willard Player of the Year, 5 Cougars All-WAC

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Brigham Young's Delaney Willard was named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year and five Cougars were named all-WAC as selected by the league's head coaches the conference announced on Wednesday.

Bus Trip to Pepperdine

Three weeks ago BYU was notified its flight plans to California were scrubbed by the airlines.  The Cougars left this morning on their longest bus trip of the season.  Prior to this bus trip, the longest bus trip of the season was a couple-hour ride from Tulsa to No. 4 Arkansas.

PROVO, Utah—In the last baseball matchup between BYU and Southern Utah University, the Cougars pulled off a 5-4 victory in an eventful seventh inning despite an injury-depleted lineup Tuesday at Miller Park.

“A win is a win,” BYU head coach Vance Law said. “We anticipated a good game from SUU. I’m pleased our guys were resilient enough to come back. Our relievers came in and did their job, which was critical for the win.”
