Cougars host Weber State in NCAA first round

PROVO, Utah - West Coast Conference co-champion BYU will host Big Sky tournament champion Weber State on Friday in the first round of the 2013 women's soccer NCAA tournament. The game will kick off at 5 p.m. MT and will be televised on BYUtv.

The Cougars (14-4-1, 8-1-0) enter the postseason on a seven-game winning streak, while the Wildcats (10-4-5, 5-2-2) are in the midst of a five-game unbeaten streak.

Tyler Haws finished with 31 points against Stanford. It was the first time since March 19, 2013 against Washington that he has scored 30 points. It's his fourth career 30-point game which puts him tied for ninth all-time at BYU.

PROVO, Utah -- BYU football finishes its home schedule Saturday at 1 p.m. MST, welcoming Idaho State to LaVell Edwards Stadium. The game will be broadcast on BYUtv.

Kickoff is slated for 1:05 p.m. MST.

The Countdown to Kickoff pregame show will begin at noon p.m. MST on BYUtv and BYUtvsports.com. Fans can also tune in to BYUtv and BYUtvsports.com for the live postgame show at the conclusion of the game. Radio coverage will begin at 11 a.m. MST on the Cougar IMG Sports Network 1160 AM/102.7 FM and BYU Radio (SiriusXM channel 143).

Tickets on sale for NCAA tournament opener

PROVO, Utah -- BYU women's soccer earned an at-large selection to the 2013 NCAA tournament and will open tournament play hosting Weber State on Friday. The game will kick off between 5 p.m. MST.

Tickets for the game are now on sale at the BYU ticket office. Season ticket holders have until Tuesday at noon MST to call the ticket office to purchase their same seats for NCAA matches.

Women’s volleyball ready for final home matches

PROVO, Utah – The No. 24 BYU women’s volleyball team returns to the Smith Fieldhouse this week for its final two home matches of the season against Gonzaga and Portland.

The Cougars (20-5, 13-2 West Coast Conference) split a pair of matches on the road last week against San Francisco and Santa Clara. BYU first swept the Dons but then fell to the Broncos in four sets. The loss leaves the Cougars in a tie for first place in WCC play with San Diego.

Cougars split wins with UNLV

PROVO, Utah -- BYU men’s and women’s swimming and diving split wins with UNLV Saturday at the Richards Building pool. The women were victorious over UNLV scoring 198-102 while the men fell 140-160.
“Our women swam well across the board and rebounded well after Boise State,” BYU head coach John Brooks said.
