Linebacker joins Cougar WR Cody Hoffman in deciding to complete eligibility prior to pursuing NFL career

PROVO, Utah -- BYU junior All-American linebacker Kyle Van Noy today announced he will remain at BYU for his senior season and will not declare for the 2013 NFL Draft.

BYU (10-4) defeated Virginia Tech 97-71 at EnergySolutions Arena on Saturday and enjoyed some nice publicity afterward. Tyler Haws scored a career-best 42 points against the Hokies — tied for eighth most in BYU history and two more that his dad's career high (Marty Haws scored 40 against Siena in 1989).

Unga, Fangupo added to 53-man NFL rosters

Former BYU football players Harvey Unga and Hebron Fangupo were added to 53-man rosters by NFL teams this week.

Unga, BYU's leader in career rushing yards, was promoted from the practice squad by the Chicago Bears, the team that originally drafted him in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Supplemental Draft. Unga had been waived by the Bears twice before being signed again to the practice squad Dec. 4 and elevated to the 53-man roster this week.

Cougars trounce Mustangs in 72-31 victory

PROVO, Utah—In the BYU women’s basketball team’s biggest win of the season so far, the Cougars topped Western New Mexico 72-31 Saturday at the Marriott Center.

“This was a good game for the players who usually don’t get a lot of playing time,” BYU head coach Jeff Judkins said. “I’m glad our walk-ons got some playing time. They work hard every day and deserved it. Our bench really gave us a good lift.”

BYU basketball will play its second game of the season at EnergySolutions Arena when the Cougars take on Virginia Tech on Saturday at 12 p.m. MST. The game will be broadcast on KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM and 1160 AM and televised on ESPNU.

Solid Men's Basketball Victory Over Northern Arizona

The Cougars had a good defensive game against Northern Arizona. Coach Rose was impressed by players from the bench. Everyone contributed to the 84-54 victory.

PROVO, Utah -- After finishing the 2012 season with a No. 4 national ranking and a 24-7 record, the BYU men’s volleyball team is back and ready for another successful campaign in 2013. The team returns All-American Taylor Sander and two All-MPSF selections to its loaded roster.
