Team arrives in San Diego

Traveling by air, bus and car, the players, coaches and staff from the BYU football team arrived in San Diego late Sunday afternoon.

The team was welcomed by a lineup of committee members from the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, a mariachi band, hotel staff and other family and friends.

OGDEN, Utah – Brandon Davies scored a career-high 33 points to lead BYU to a 78-68 victory over Weber State Saturday night. The victory was the first road win for the Cougars this season and ends Weber State's 20-game home winning streak.

Provo, Utah – Four Cougars scored in double figures as the BYU women’s basketball team defeated the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 70-48 Saturday afternoon at the Marriott Center.

“It's a good win, that's a good team,” BYU head coach Jeff Judkins said. “I think we caught them on a tired night, but I saw a lot of good things. A lot of players have gotten better, and when we run our stuff, and we execute, we're tough to beat.”

BYU senior offensive tackle Braden Brown has been invited to the 88th Annual East-West Shrine Game®, which will be played on January 19 in St. Petersberg, Fla. The annual all-star game played at Tropicana Field will kick off at 4 p.m. EST and be televised on the NFL Network.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - BYU punter Riley Stephenson and linebacker Kyle Van Noy were both named to the Phil Steele All-America Third Team announced today. Earlier in the week, defensive lineman Ezekiel Ansah was named an honorable mention All-America selection by Pro Football Weekly.
