BYU at Stanford in College Tip-Off Marathon

Game Notes: BYU at Stanford

After opening the season with an 81-72 home win over Weber State, BYU men's basketball will head to Stanford to take on the Cardinal at Maples Pavilion at 8 p.m. PST. The game will be televised live on ESPN2 and broadcast live on the Cougar IMG Sports Network on KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM and 1160 AM.

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Three BYU players fall to three top-25 opponents in the second round as the first day of the Thunderbird Invitational concluded, Friday at Arizona State.
 
“The girls fought hard and played well,” BYU head coach Lauren Jones-Spencer said.

Owens named to WCC All-Academic Team for the second time

PROVO, Utah - BYU senior goalkeeper Erica Owens was named to her second straight West Coast Conference All-Academic Team on Friday.

Owens was one of 11 players from the West Coast Conference named to the All-Academic team. The fifth-year senior graduated last spring with a degree in Exercise & Wellness. She has maintained a 3.71 cumulative GPA and currently leads the conference in goals against average, as well as shutouts.

Colohan and Hatch lead No. 19 BYU over Pacific

PROVO, Utah – Cloee Colohan and Ashley Hatch recorded a goal and an assist to lead BYU women’s soccer to a 3-1 victory over Pacific on Thursday night at South Field.

The Cougars (13-4-1 overall, 7-1-0 West Coast Conference) recorded 14 shots in the match and held the Tigers (4-11-3 overall, 3-4-1 WCC) to just six.

No. 21 Cougars sweep San Francisco on the road

SAN FRANCISCO – Senior Kathryn LeCheminant led BYU women’s volleyball to a three-set (25-20, 25-19, 25-8) sweep on the road at San Francisco on Thursday to remain atop the West Coast Conference.

“I’m happy for the girls and team,” BYU head coach Shawn Olmstead said. “They played a great match. Give credit to each of the girls. We played strong in every facet.”

Cougars looking forward to season opener at home

After cruising through their two exhibition games, the Cougars will open their season at home against Weber State Friday night.

Van Noy named Lombardi Award semifinalist

PROVO, Utah -- BYU outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy was named a semifinalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award Thursday.
