Spring football begins week three

PROVO, Utah - The BYU football team began its third week of spring practice with another outdoor session on Monday afternoon.

The team continues to improve and prepare for the 2013 season as spring ball nears its midway point. Several players have made strides and continue to work hard to establish a place on the squad.

Cougars to host Washington in NIT on Tuesday

Game notes: BYU vs. Washington in the NIT

No. 3 seed BYU will host No. 6 seed Washington in the first round of the National Invitational Tournament on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. MDT. Tuesday's game will be televised on ESPN and broadcast on KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM and 1160 AM.

Home opener, then conference opener in San Diego

PROVO, Utah--After a week off, the BYU softball team will play in its home opener on Tuesday against Marist College at 6 p.m. MDT and then will travel to San Diego for its conference opener in a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday.

BYU basketball will host Washington in the first round of the 2013 National Invitational Tournament on Tuesday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. MDT in the Marriott Center. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN and KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM and 1160 AM.

PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball will return to the postseason for a program-record eighth-straight season as the Cougars received an at-large bid to the 2013 National Invitational Tournament on Sunday.

Natalie Stewart finishes second in 400 to lead BYU at Aztec Invitational

SAN DIEGO – Senior Natalie Stewart finished second in the 400-meter run during the final day of the Aztec Invitational Saturday with a time of 53.85 seconds, a time only .46 off her personal best.

Due to an ACL injury in 2011, Stewart has not run this fast of a time since the 2010 Robison Outdoor Invitational where she finished with a time of 53.91.

Victory eludes in 14th inning at San Diego

SAN DIEGO (March 16, 2013)— Kris Bryant knocked his second walk-off home run against BYU Saturday as first-place San Diego won 10-9 in 14 innings.

The Cougars (9-10) played four hours and 42 minutes, leading most of the game again against USD (14-6). Bryant put together bookend walk-off homers to help the Toreros to a three-game sweep of BYU.

San Diego -- The BYU men’s track and field team wrapped up its final day of competition at the Aztec Invitational with 12 top-10 finishes, including second-place finishes by Braydon Bringhurst and Dakoda John.

No. 39 Cougars win five singles matches to beat No. 60 New Mexico

PROVO, Utah -- The No. 39 BYU men's tennis team beat its sixth ranked opponent this year in No. 60 New Mexico 5-2 on Saturday at the BYU Indoor Tennis Courts.
“New Mexico has a great team, a great tradition and is well coached,” BYU head coach Brad Pearce said. “If we didn’t come out and fight [after doubles] like we did, we would have ended today with a loss.
