BYU vs. Utah State postponed

Athletics officials from BYU and Utah State have determined that tonight's men's basketball game between the two universities will be postponed due to the serious medical condition of USU student-athlete Danny Berger that occurred during practice on Tuesday. The thoughts and prayers of the BYU athletic department are with Danny and his family at this time.

BYU head coach Dave Rose and player Cory Calvert were live at Legends Grille Tuesday night on the weekly KSL Radio Coach's Show. 

Rose began the show previewing the upcoming week with two instate rivals and offering his sympathy for Utah State's Danny Berger who collapsed at practice on Tuesday afternoon.

PROVO, Utah – Haley Steed recorded her first double-double of the season, scoring a season-high 22 points and tying a season high with 12 assists to lead the Cougars to an 81-77 victory over Utah State Tuesday night at the Marriott Center. Her 12 assists moved her past Valerie Cravens as the all-time career assists leader at BYU with 623 total.

NEW YORK (Dec. 4, 2012) — Ty Detmer became the seventh BYU Cougar to enter the College Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday night when the 2012 Hall of Fame Class was officially inducted at the 55th National Football Foundation Annual Awards Dinner, held at New York City’s historic Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.

Outlook for 2013 Season

A new coaching staff revitalizes the BYU baseball team as it readies for the 2013 season and its second year in the West Coast Conference.

Cougar alum Mike Littlewood and his entire staff have been together the past three seasons at Dixie State College.  There his teams captured eight league titles and made four appearances in the Junior College World Series, including winning the national title in 2004.

The BYU women’s basketball team has signed three new recruits that will begin their college career  in 2013-14— Cassie Broadhead, from Glenville, N.Y.,  Utah standout Amy Harris from Santa Clara and Kalani Purcell from Brisbane, Australia.

Five players named to All-Region Teams

PROVO, Utah - Five members of the BYU women's soccer team have been award All-Region honors by the NCAA .

The Cougars finished the season with a 20-2-2 record after making their first trip back to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight in nine years and winning their first outright West Coast Conference title.

The Dec. 3, 2012, issue of Sports Illustrated includes a section titled 'You're Just What We're Looking For (check it out on page 32).' It is described in the following way in the magazine: "Help Wanted: Many teams entered the season with open positions ranging from the point to the paint. It's still early, but these players have answered the call and shown they're up to the job."
