Football bye week full of national accolades, interviews

This week BYU was named the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week after its 40-21 victory over then No. 15 Texas at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

United Way Day of Caring

On Thursday, Sept. 12, the BYU athletic department joined the rest of the BYU campus in the Utah County United Way Day of Caring by supporting numerous service projects throughout the community. University employees were given four hours off work to support the United Way’s efforts to strengthen the local community.
 

BYU launches Cougar Social

PROVO, Utah – BYU Athletics is excited to announce Cougar Social, a new program that will give social media influencers and non-credentialed Cougar bloggers the experience of covering football and basketball games from the press box at LaVell Edwards Stadium and press row at the Marriott Center.

Cougars face Utes and begin conference play

PROVO, Utah – The BYU women’s volleyball team heads north on Tuesday to face the University of Utah before heading back home to begin conference play against rival San Diego.

The Cougars improved to 6-3 during the week with sweeps at home against the Bobcats of Montana State and the Anteaters of UC Irvine.

Cougars draw with Ducks

EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 6 BYU women's soccer team played Oregon to a 0-0 stalemate on the road Thursday night.

The Cougars and Ducks held each other scoreless over 110 minutes at Pape Field. It was BYU's second road test of the year. In its first road contest, the team beat LSU 4-2 on Sept. 2.

The Cougars (4-0-1) held Oregon (2-4-1) without a shot on goal until the 76th minute, but the Ducks put five shots on the goal the rest of the game and outshot the visitors 19-16 overall.

Alexa Gray leads BYU to sweep over UC Irvine

PROVO, Utah – Alexa Gray recorded 17 kills to lead the BYU women’s volleyball team to a sweep (25-16, 25-18, 25-20) over UC Irvine on Thursday night at the Smith Fieldhouse.
