Defense Comes Up Big In 14-13 Win

OXFORD, Miss. – On a day when defense dominated, the BYU football team scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Ole Miss Rebels 14-13 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday.

Volleyball Takes 1st in Varney's Invite

MANHATTAN, Kan. (Sept. 3, 2011)—Tournament MVP Jennifer Hamson led the BYU women’s volleyball team to a first-place finish in the Varney’s Invitational with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-23) victory against host Kansas State Saturday afternoon.

With the victory, the Cougars’ record increases to 5-2, including a four-match winning streak.

Ole Miss Fireside

TUPELO, Miss. - BYU held its first fireside of the season Friday night as various members of the team spoke before an audience of 1,150 that filled the Tupelo Stake Center.

The chapel and every room in the building were overflowing as the Cougars held their first fireside in the state of Mississippi. In a sign of friendship, Tupelo City Councilman Jonny Davis presented BYU President Cecil O. Samuelson with the key to the city.
