BYU will host Washington State on Thursday, Aug. 30 in the season opener. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. MT and will be broadcast live from LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah, on ESPN, and KSL Radio 1160 AM, 102.7 FM and ksl.com.

BYU sweeps past Rice for tourney title

HOUSTON—Tournament MVP Jennifer Hamson’s season-high 18 kills helped the BYU women’s volleyball team to a sweep of the Rice Invitational after downing host Rice 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-22) to secure the tournament title Saturday.

Dominant offense not enough in loss on the road

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The BYU women's soccer team dominated on the offensive end, taking 20 shots to Utah's five, but lost on the road after an early goal, Saturday.

BYU's Jaiden Thornock, Jessica Ringwood and Colette Jepson led the team in shots with four, three and three, respectively. Utah had five total shots, each coming from a different player.

HOUSTON—Continuing a successful start to the 2012 season, the BYU women’s volleyball team recorded its second sweep of the weekend with a 3-0 (25-16, 23-12, 25-11) win against Air Force in the Cougars’ second match of the Rice Invitational.
