Hatch named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Following Friday's hat trick to knock off 2015 national champion Penn State, BYU's Ashley Hatch was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week.

Hatch scored the first two goals of the game and the game-winner against the No. 5 Nittany Lions. For the senior, it was the seventh multiple-goal game of her career and second hat trick. Hatch has scored all five of the Cougars' goals this season.

As a sophmore, Hatch was named WCC Player of the Week on Sept. 29, 2014 and Oct. 13, 2014.

Miller propels No. 13 Cougars to BYU Invitational title

PROVO, Utah — McKenna Miller's errorless hitting helped propel No. 13 BYU women’s volleyball to its second sweep of the BYU Invitational with a victory over Cal Poly (25-16, 25-13, 25-20) Saturday night at the Smith Fieldhouse to win the title.

PROVO, Utah – No. 13 BYU women’s volleyball came back from being down two sets to one to defeat Rice in five sets (25-20, 23-25, 24-26, 25-18, 15-8) Saturday afternoon at the Smith Fieldhouse.

Miller leads No. 13 BYU in sweep over UVU

PROVO, Utah –– Behind freshman McKenna Miller’s strong performance, BYU defeated Utah Valley in three sets (25-14, 25-14, 25-13) Friday night at the Smith Fieldhouse.

In addition to winning the season opener, BYU (1-0) broke its attendance record with a crowd of 4,672 at the Cougars’ first match of the BYU Invitational.

STATE COLLEGE, Penn. – Ashley Hatch's second career hat trick pushed No. 14 BYU past defending national champion No. 5 Penn State Friday on the road.

"Coming off some great practices this week, it was an incredible performance against an excellent program," BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood said. "We played our game right from the beginning and were rewarded for it."

Schedule for 2016-2017 season announced

PROVO Utah –Arizona State and Oregon State highlight the upcoming BYU swim and dive schedule for the 2016-2017 season that will start in September.

“We’re looking forward to a great season,” said BYU head swim and dive coach John Brooks. “We have a good mix of regular teams and new opponents on the schedule. It is always exciting to start a season with new athletes joining the returning swimmers and divers.
