About

The Life Skills Coordinator works with student-athletes and teams to develop greater sense of purpose and clarity of vision as to their place and role in the “bigger picture”, traditions, and mission of Brigham Young University  and how that understanding and commitment ties them to long-term goals, direction, and accomplishments in life.

Some specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement ongoing, sustainable, and effective mentor programs in each sport.
  • Create an annual student-athlete resume book through working with teams and individuals on resume writing and interviewing skills.
  • Mentor student-athletes in personal, career, and professional development.
  • Teach two sections of Health 201
  • Coordinate, organize, and oversee community service programs, events, and activities.
  • Participate in the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (Cougar Council).
  • Assist student-athletes with scholarships.
  • Work with national organizations and other university Life Skills programs regarding current student and post-graduate activities and opportunities.
  • Update and maintain SAAC website.
