Pratte is the head BYU team physician.
Pratte earned his bachelor's degree in Microbiology from BYU in 1992 before obtaining his medical training at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif. He completed a year of Internal Medicine through the University of Washington and did his residency at IHC/ Utah Valley Family Practice in Provo. Pratte became the first fellow to graduate from the Sports Medicine Fellowship at BYU in 2000.
Currently practicing at IHC North Orem Clinic, Pratte is board certified in family practice and has a CAQ in Sports Medicine. He also serves as a team doctor for the Orem Owlz baseball team.
Previously, he was the medical director for the Utah Ironman Triathlon, served as the team doctor for Utah Valley State College and worked at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
Pratte is married to the former Lareen Bluth. They have five children.
