Scott Andrewson Staff Bio | Assistant Cheer Coach

Scott Andrewson


  • Works alongside the head coach in the proper technical and safety training of the team
  • Works to prepare each team member to correctly and safely perform/execute the required skills for each performance/game
  • Attends the women's sports events that the cheer squad attends as the coach and liaison for the team. Includes the women's volleyball games and women's basketball games
  • Works to organize and maintain calendar of events to ensure the team is aware and prepared for each game or appearance
  • Works with one of the two squads throughout football games, keeping them on task and in sync with other squad for cheers to the crowd as well as with timeout performances
  • Assists in each practice to teach and train squad members to become the best they can be


  • Graduated with associates degree in generel studies from Salt Lake Community College in 2003
  • Graduated with bachelor's degree in applied sciences, emphasis in sociology from BYU in 2006
  • EMT - B certified

Prior to BYU

  • Works with the United Spirit Association as one of the cheer program directors.  Also works within the company as a customer development specialist which entails working as a manager of the staff; working with the hiring, scheduling and training of staff members; assisting in creation of material and curriculum taught at summer camps, working directly with customers selling the products we offer at summer camps/competitions and marketing the company to the schools and community.  
  • Worked with the Phoenix Suns mascot within their community relations department and game operations.  Goal was to schedule and market the mascot out into the community.  While there set a record of taking the Gorilla out to over 300 appearances in a year.
  • Worked as a part time student teacher for the release time seminary program at Perry High School
