Dan Nielson begins his second season as director of operations for the womens basketball team after serving two seasons as a volunteer coach.
From 2001-2005 he had been a volunteer practice player/coach on the team where he assisted with post player development and team scouting. He has also worked on the teams summer camps as a counselor in 2003 and 2007, as well as with the mens camps in the summer of 2007.
The Austin, Texas native was a volunteer coach for the boys Williamson County Texas summer league for boys ages 15-18 during the summer of 2002.
Dan was a three-year letterwinner in basketball at Round Rock High School in Round Rock, Texas where he garnered All-District honors during the 1999-2000 and 2000-01 seasons.
He graduated from BYU in April 2006 with a degree in American Studies. He served an LDS mission to Caracas, Venezuela and was married to Carly John in 2005. The couple resides in Provo.
