BYU Years

Todd Miller

Former BYU All-American and Academic All-American Todd Miller is director of golf operations and associate head golf coach after serving four years as the assistant men's golf coach at BYU.

In his first year as an assistant, Miller helped guide BYU to a 15th-place NCAA Championship finish and maintain a spot among the nation's Top 10 for the majority of the season. In his second season, he helped guide the Cougars to an MWC Championship and a Top-20 ranking throughout the season. Miller played four seasons for the Cougars and became the first player in the Bruce Brockbank era to achieve citations of All-American, Academic All-American and Academic All-Conference. A natural leader on and off the golf course, Coach Miller utilizes his experience and knowledge of the game as a coach for the Cougars.

Miller grew up in Napa, Calif., where he played junior golf and won four Northern California Championships. He came to BYU as a highly touted recruit and played two solid seasons before leaving to serve an LDS Church mission in Chile. Soon after returning from his mission, Miller found himself leading the nationally ranked Cougars. During his junior campaign, he led the Cougars in four events and was named All-America Honorable Mention. He played a leading role in the Cougars' ninth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, where he placed 30th individually. Miller continued his solid play throughout the summer following his junior season, reaching the finals of the Utah State Amateur. Entering a senior season in which the Cougars returned all of their players, Miller continued to contribute to the Cougars' success, garnering Academic All-America and Academic All-Conference honors.

"He's a great coach because he's always energized and helps us raise our level of intensity," former BYU Cougar Daniel Summerhays said about Miller. "He also helps us with our mental game out on the course. He's all about service to his players, and he probably pampers us more than he should."

Miller and his wife Shannon have two daughters, Kate and Jane.
