Three Players Sign To Play For BYU's Women's Hoops Team

PROVO, Utah (Dec. 3, 2003) Mallory Gillespie from Orem and Mountain View High School along with Mary Martha Abell and Lauren Riley will play for coach Jeff Judkins and the Cougar women's program next year.

Gillespie is a 5-10 guard that is finishing her final high school season at nearby Mountain View, one of the state's most successful women's programs that is also nationally recognized.

Mary Martha Abell is from Monroe, Louisiana. The 6-3 forward currently plays at St. Fredericks High School in Monroe.

Lauren Riley another 6-3 center comes from San Clemente, California an is currently competing at San Clemente High School.

"All three of these players are very competitive and have a great feel for the game," said assistant coach Alli Bills. "They are great students and hard working individuals. They will take our team to another level and could be one of our best recruiting classes."

The three student-athletes who committed to play for BYU in late November, will begin their college career next October.
