With a 67-58 win over Colorado State on Sat. Jan. 16, the BYU women’s basketball team (12-3, 3-0) is the only undefeated team in the MWC.
The Cougars take their seven-game winning streak to Laramie to battle the Wyoming Cowgirls (11-5, 2-2) on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Tip off is set for 6 p.m., and can be seen live on The Mtn.

Wyoming has compiled an 11-5, 2-2 record to date. In league play they’ve beaten CSU and TCU and lost at San Diego State and most recently at New Mexico. Three Cowgirls are scoring in double digits led by junior forward Hillary Carlson who scores 14.4 points a game and grabs 5.9 boards. She’s followed by Aubrey Vandiver who contributes 14.2 points and team high 9.2 boards per contest. Rounding out the double figure scoring is sophomore forward Emma Langford’s 12.0 points and 4.3 rebounds a game. She also has the most assists on the team with a total of 57 while Vandiver tops the list in the steals category with a total of 31. Head coach Joe Legerski is in his seventh year with the Wyoming program.

A Look Back at the Series during the 2009 MWC Race
The Cougars and Cowgirls split the series last season with each team winning on the road. BYU has a 19-12 record when playing at Arena Auditorium getting their last win during the 2009 MWC campaign, a 58-45 Cougar win on Jan. 31, 2009.
After the league contest against Wyoming in Laramie, BYU returns home to host two MWC foes. San Diego State comes to Provo on Sat. Jan. 23 followed by a home contest vs. the Lobos of New Mexico on Wed. Jan. 27.
