BYU Women's Head Coach Patrick Shane said, "I am really pleased with how we did. We had a great race today."

Andersen said, "Our strategy was to run as a team. Our whole goal was to work together and stay in a pack." Andersen was named the Mountain West Conference women's cross country athlete of the year and freshman of the year. It is the first time in the history of the conference that the same athlete won both honors. Coach Shane was named coach of the year.

Shane remarked, "Andersen is a great athlete and a very good runner. Great athletes make good coaches and not the other way around."
