SAMMAMMISH -- Following a solid first round at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, senior Natalia Jimenez and freshman Maggie Yuan continue to impress to guide the team to ninth place at +55 after round two.

On a cool, windy day, the team floated around the No. 8 and 9 spots for most of the afternoon before being cemented between Washington State and Idaho for the current position.

Jimenez got off to a great start to retain her No. 1 individual position but eventually gained a few strokes in the clutch to finish tied for fifth overall. She birdied a few holes but then double-bogeyed Hole 2. She is currently six-over par after making even-par on Day 1.

Freshman Maggie Yuan is battling hard to maintain a top-10 position after improving her round-one score of 79 to a 73 in round two and is currently in eighth place overall. She made par most of the day, including birdies on holes 8 and 16 to finish at +8 overall.

"We're hitting a lot of good shots," said head coach Sue Nyhus. "We struggled a little bit as a team. We have a few in the top 10, but we've got to get the rest to play as they are capable."

Sophomores Jade Bollinger and Sara Romero are in relatively equal positions at No. 49 and No. 54, respectively, while junior Shayla Forsey is pitching in with a +25 effort.

"We're working hard," Nyhus said. "We've just got to hit straight, play a solid short game and go out and hit shots and play smarter."
