CORAL SPRINGS -- BYU sophomore Jade Bollinger has been named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-America Scholar Team for women's collegiate golfers.
Bollinger is one of 402 scholar-athletes at the Division I, II and III level to receive the prestigious award from the NGCA and one of 10 from the Mountain West Conference.
The criteria for selection to the All-America Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50% (Division I) or 66% (Division II & III) of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Bollinger, a sophomore from Wellington, Florida studying business management, currently maintains a 3.88 cumulative GPA. She was recently selected for the Spring 2008 MWC Academic All-Conference team.
As a freshman, she competed in 10 of BYU's 11 events and held an average stroke of 78.04. Her lowest score on the year came in the third round of the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational where she shot a two-under-par 70. She also earned a second-place finish at the Weber State Wildcat Invitational.
