PROVO -- The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee announced Monday the selection of the No. 30 BYU Women's Golf Team to participate in the 2008 NCAA Women's Golf Championship Regionals. The Cougars will compete in the West regional May 8-10 at the Lincoln Hills Golf club in Lincoln, Calif., hosted by Sacramento State University.
"I'm proud of our team," said BYU head coach Sue Nyhus. "We're looking forward to playing well and giving each shot 100 percent of our attention."
Other Mountain West Conference teams will be participating in NCAA regionals throughout the United States. No. 20 New Mexico will play in the East regional in Athens Ga., while No. 36 TCU will play in the Central Regional in Austin, Tex., and No. 45 UNLV will compete against BYU and other top-ranked teams in the West regional.
The NCAA Women's Golf Championships will be held May 20-23 at the University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque, N.M.
