Cougars Currently in Third at Ron Moore Intercollegiate

DENVER -- The No. 27 BYU women's golf team is currently in third place after the first day of play at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate tournament.

BYU senior Rachel Newren is currently tied for first place at the tournament with five-under. She is tied with players Sara Wikstrom of Arkansas - Little Rock and Emily Hoeper of University of Denver.

Juli Erekson is tied for 20th place while Danielle von Arnim is in 28th place. Fellow Cougars Alexis Edwards and Ashley Childers are currently in 39th and 46th respectively.

Head coach Sue Nyhus also brought along a Cougar B team to compete at the tournament. The team is ranked 10th among the 16 schools. Natalia Jimenez leads the team tied for 12th in the tournament.

Currently the University of Denver is in the lead of the tournament.

BYU will continue the Ron Moore Intercollegiate tournament Tuesday morning at the Highlands Ranch Golf Course.
