Cougars in Ninth After Two Rounds

LEBANON -- After two rounds at the Oregon Duck Invitational, the BYU women's golf team stands in ninth place, after a first round 30-over 318 and a second round 11-over 299.

The tournament features 15 teams and is being held at the Mallard Creek Golf Course, a par 72, 5,975 yard course.

Freshman Natalie Newren is six-over-par after firing rounds of 78 and 72 to stand in a tie for 12th place.

The top team in the tournament, No. 17 Washington is the runaway leader with a 10-over 586, 16 shots ahead of second place Idaho. Individually Susannah Laing of USF stands in first at one-under-par.

The final round is scheduled to tee-off at 8:30 Friday.
