PROVO, Utah — Four members of the BYU women’s golf team were named to the 2016-17 WGCA All-American Scholar Team on Wednesday.

The WGCA recognized Lauren Atkinson, Brooklyn Hocker, Rose Huang and Aiko Leong with the prestigious honor, alongside 948 other women’s collegiate golfers.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. All-American Scholar Team members are required to have at least a 3.50 GPA and must have competed in at least half of the team’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds.

Atkinson and Hocker were both seniors on the 2016-17 squad. Atkinson majored in family history/genealogy and Hocker graduated with a degree in exercise and wellness. Huang is a sophomore studying food science, while Leong, a freshman, is majoring in accounting.

Hocker and Huang were both named to the 2015-16 WGCA All-American Scholar team.
