SUN RIVER -- BYU women's golfer and All-American Carrie Summerhays was named to the Mountain West Conference all-conference team, at the conclusion of the MWC Championship Wednesday.
Summerhays, a senior and native of Heber City, Utah, was the 2001 MWC Player of the Year, and its 2000 Co-Player of the Year.
A three-time All-MWC performer, Summerhays was also an all-conference golfer with the Western Athletic Conference as a freshman in 1999.
At this year's MWC tourney Summerhays finished in a tie for 10th, capping her sparkling conference career with a fourth top 10 conference finish. Previously she finished in a tie for seventh in 2001, second in 2000 and eighth in 1999.
Through the regular season Summerhays carried a 76.1 stroke average as she competed in all of eight of BYU's tournaments. Her highest placing came at the Pioneer Highlands Ranch Intercollegiate in Highlands, Colo., where she was one-over 145 to finish in a tie for second.
