PROVO, Utah - BYU women's soccer will begin its spring schedule as it hosts an indoor tournament on Feb. 22.
The Cougars, who finished the regular season 15-5-1 and were the No. 23 team in the nation, will play 11 games against teams from five different conferences in February, March and April.
BYU opens its spring season on Saturday Feb. 22 with games against Idaho State, Weber State and Westminster. The following weekend the Cougars travel to Tempe, Ariz., and take on Arizona State and Northern Arizona.
BYU finishes March at the Dixie State tournament in St. George. The Cougars take on Southern Utah and Dixie State on Saturday, March 22.
In April, BYU travels to Las Vegas to take on UNLV and USC on Saturday, April 5. The next week BYU will host its final two games on Saturday, April 12 against Utah State and Utah.
The Cougars will play four teams from the Big Sky, three of which finished in the top half of the standings. That includes Weber State, who won the Big Sky tournament to advance to the NCAA First Round. The Wildcats lost to BYU 4-0 in Provo on Nov. 15 in that opening round game. BYU will also play two D-II teams in Dixie State and Westminster.
The major conference opponents include five teams from the Mountain West and Pac-12. Both the Aggies and Rebels finished in the middle of the table in the Mountain West Conference. Utah and Arizona State finished the season with winning records, while playing in the Pac-12. USC hired away Washington State's head coach who led the Cougars to a second place finish in the Pac-12 last year.
