PROVO, Utah -- Completing the weekend's games with three shutouts, the BYU women's soccer team won this year's spring indoor tournament led by Jennie Marshall's two goals and three assists.
The Cougars went 3-0 in the tournament with games against Weber State, Westminster and Utah State.
Game one against Weber State finished in a 2-0 shutout with Marshall netting both and teammate Lauren Anderson adding one assist.
Against Westminster, the Cougars dominated in a 4-0 score with each goal coming from a different player. Lindsi Lisonbee headed in a ball off a corner kick from Anderson and Marshall assisted on the next two goals to Carlee Payne and Anderson. Jessica Ringwood's final goal was scored off a penalty kick to secure the victory.
In the final game, both Utah State and BYU came in with their 2-0 undefeated records on the line. Up to the challenge, Marshall again assisted on the gamewinner to Payne for the lone goal of the game.
The Cougars continue their spring schedule with six road games before returning home in early April when they host their Outdoor Tournament at South Field.
