Willis, Payne, Lisonbee Receive National Honors

PROVO -- Senior Hermann Trophy Candidate Andrea Willis, Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year Carlee Payne and freshman Lindsi Lisonbee have been recognized by TopDrawerSoccer.com for their performances this year.

Willis was named to TDS's Honorable Mention 2009 Team of the Season after anchoring a BYU defense that has only allowed 11 goals all year and is now competing in the second round of the 2009 NCAA tournament. Willis has recorded two goals, four assists and 28 shots this year.

Payne was named to TDS's Freshman Team of the Season after leading the team with a total of 13 goals, 10 assists and 52 shots. Payne has scored in 13 of BYU's 23 games and was also recently named the 2009 MWC Freshman of the Year.

Lisonbee, a 5-10 freshman defender form Park City, was named to TDS's Freshman Second Team of the Season after also being a part of the Cougar defense that has only allowed 11 goals all year.

Willis was also named as a nominee for College Soccer Player of the Year, along with 36 other top women's college soccer players, by Soccer News Net. Fans can go here to vote!

The No. 10 BYU Cougars (18-3-2) will play No. 1 Stanford, at Stanford, in the second round of the 2009 NCAA tournament on Saturday at 1 p.m. PT.
