PROVO -- The BYU women's softball team will host in-state rival Utah on Saturday in a doubleheader starting at noon at Gail Miller Field. BYU is currently 27-19, 4-8 after splitting with San Diego State last Friday.
Utah won both games of a doubleheader in eight innings when the teams met in Salt Lake two weeks ago 3-2, 8-7. Despite the conference record the Cougars are 4-5 against top 25 teams this season.
Senior Kari Pringle and sophomore Oli Keohohou currently have and eight-game hitting streak. Keohohou also leads the conference in batting average and slugging percentage with .444 and .972, respectively. The native of Newbury Park, Calif., also is third in the country in home runs with 17.
"We're looking to play Utah at our home field," head coach Mary Kay Amicone said. "We hope to get off to a good start and not have to come from behind."
