After placing finalists in each of the six tournaments held at the BYU Invitational, Cougar tennis players won two of those tournaments on Saturday.
The BYU doubles team of Lindsay Ferrell/Lu Oswald defeated Anna Dybicz/Zorma Rogonovic of Utah State, 8-4 on Saturday to win one of the two doubles tournaments that were held. Dominique Reynolds was the other Cougar to never lose. She won the flight two singles tournament by defeating Kim Sen of Weber State, 7-5, 6-4. Lu Oswald of BYU took third in the same tournament, defeating Laura Nigro of Air Force, 6-4, 7-5.
Jodi Richardson/Brooke Ferney won three in a row to advance to the finals of the flight one doubles tournament, but were defeated, 8-6, by Renata Stoop/Helen Lawson of Boise State. Richardson also placed second in the flight one singles tournament and Ferrell placed second in the flight three singles tournament, while Elyse Jensen also placed second in the flight four singles tournament.
The tournament included nine schools and over 64 tennis players. Schools that participated were Boise State, Utah State, Utah, Weber State, Washington State, Air Force, Colorado State and Wyoming.
