SAN DIEGO, Calif.—BYU women’s pole vaulters lead the track and field team this weekend at the Aztec Invitational, the UVU Collegiate and the prestigious Texas Relays.

“The throwers and pole vaulters did really well this week, they were the highlight of the meet,” multi events coach Mark Robison said. “We got some good marks to qualify for regionals and our throwers were unbelievable."

At the Aztec Invitational BYU was well represented by freshman Sierra Hansen (3.66m), sophomore Anginae Monteverde (3.56m) and freshman Maleah McMullin (3.33m).

Senior Rachel Fisher finished in tenth place at the Texas Relays with a mark of 4.00, good enough to qualify for NCAA regionals.

Meaghan Heffelfinger topped her personal best in the discus with a mark of 46.32m at the Aztec Invitational.

Brenna Porter ran in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.58 at the Texas Relays.

Chloe Richardson finished in third place in the triple jump at the UVU Collegiate Invitational with a mark of 11.79m respectively.

The Cougars will travel next to Palo Alto, Calif., on April 4-5 to compete in the Stanford Invitational.
