SALT LAKE CITY (March 29, 2003) -- BYU coach Karen Lamb's 2003 team got some valuable experience Saturday while defeating all five opponents at the University of Utah Spring Tournament in Salt Lake City.
Playing five matches in the all-day tournament at Crimson Court, the Cougars defeated Montana State (2-0), UVSC (2-1), Weber State (2-0), Utah (2-1) and Utah State (2-1).
Against the host Utes, BYU took the first game, 30-28, before falling in game two, 30-24. BYU held on to claim the decisive third game by a 15-13 tally.
The Cougars will now prepare to host the BYU Spring Tournament Friday in the Smith Fieldhouse. Utah, Weber State, UVSC and Idaho State will participate in the one-day exhibition.
