Provo, Utah (February 2, 2005)--BYU tennis player Olga Boulytcheva was named the Mountain West Player of the Week for her performance against Kansas and Kansas State this past weekend.
During the Cougars two-day Kansas road trip, Boulytcheva only lost one doubles match as she compiled a 3-1 record against the two Big 12 teams. On the year, Boulytcheva is 4-1 in both singles and doubles.
Her singles win against Kansas St. was instrumental in leading the Cougars to a 4-3 victory. The following day against the Jayhawks, the junior was moved to number two singles and blasted Kansas' Christine Skoda 6-1,6-0 as the Cougars swept the Jayhawks 7-0.
For her career, Olga boasts a 38-17 all time singles record with a 32-7 career doubles record. This was Boulytcheva's first Player of the Week award.
