PROVO -- In what will be an exciting and entertaining conclusion to the spring season, the BYU football team will participate in the 32nd Annual Blue-White Spring Football Game on Saturday, April 9 at Edwards Stadium, beginning at 5 p.m. (MT). Parking and admission to the game is free to the public.

"This is going to be the most exciting game we have ever had," BYU marketing director Tony Jewkes said. "There are a lot of reasons why fans will not want to miss this game. We have a new coach, an exciting new offense, a new format for the spring game, a new time, the new legends' game and a new price -- free."

Events for kids, adults and students will begin at 4 p.m. at the stadium. Jewkes said plans are in the works to have a live music, food and a variety of interactive activities for everyone to enjoy.

Grade-school youth between the ages of 5 and 12 will be able to participate in a free football clinic at Edwards Stadium, also beginning at 4 p.m. Members of the BYU football team will be on hand to teach basic fundamentals to the youngsters.

Following the youth football clinic, all-stars will be selected from the group and divided into two different teams. The youngsters will participate in blue-white flag football game prior to the start of the regular Blue-White Game.

At halftime, former BYU football greats will take the field for the first-annual Blue-White Legends' Game. The flag football contest will feature past stars such as Jamal Willis, Luke Staley and Brandon Doman.

There will be a running, combined score throughout the youth football game, the Legends' Game, and the Blue-White game, giving both the youth and legends the opportunity to help determine the final outcome of the game.

Following the game, players and coaches will be on hand to meet with fans, sign autographs and take photos.

"Our goal is to make this event as much like a real-game experience as possible for our fans," Jewkes said. "We want everyone to come and experience the new direction of BYU Football."

Jewkes said he expects over 20,000 to attend this year's game. All seats at the stadium will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis for the spring game.

Fans will also have the opportunity to renew their season tickets during the event, as well as place new orders for season tickets. The season-ticket renewal period begins April 1 through May 2. To renew or place an order for season tickets, fans may contact the BYU Ticket Office at (801) 422-BYU1 after April 1.

The Cougars will kickoff the spring football season on Monday, March 14.
