Austin Collie – Football – Junior – El Dorado Hills, Calif.
All-American candidate Austin Collie had nine catches for 155 yards (a new career high) and a touchdown, leading No. 8 BYU to a 21-3 victory over New Mexico. Collie has more than 100 yards receiving in each of the last four games (UCLA, Wyoming, Utah State, New Mexico).
Collie is leading the MWC in yards per game at 112.7 (2nd nationally), receptions per game at 7.8 (5th nationally), total receiving yards at 673 (5th nationally), and scoring TDs with eight. He is third in scoring and all-purpose yards.
Down to New Mexico with 11:38 in the second quarter, Max Hall hit Collie on a 58-yard bomb down to the Lobo 21-yard line. Five plays later, BYU scored to take a 7-3 lead.
Six of Collie’s final seven receptions converted first downs for BYU, while seven of his nine catches went for 11-yards or more.
Collie accounted for 155 of the Cougars’ 285 receiving yards (54 percent of the passing offense). With 3:05 to play in the game, Collie hauled in an eight-yard pass from Hall to put the game away at 21-3.
Collie is leading the Cougars in receiving yards, catches, yards per game and points scored. He is second in all-purpose yards to Harvey Unga. Collie now has 2,390 career receiving yard, good for seventh all-time at BYU. His 10 career 100-yard receiving games is tied for third all-time with Phil Odle and Margin Hooks.

Jan Jorgensen – Football – Junior – Helper, Utah
Defensive captain Jan Jorgensen led a Cougar team that held New Mexico to just three points in a 21-3 victory for BYU.
Jorgensen was dominating in stuffing the UNM offense. He tied or led the Cougars in three defensive categories, including tackles (11), fumble recoveries (1) and quarterback hurries (1).
With New Mexico driving right before the half, Jorgensen recovered a Brad Gruner fumble on the BYU 48 to kill a Lobo drive and preserve a 7-3 BYU lead.
CJ Santiago – Football – Senior – Honolulu
CJ Santiago had an impressive outing for BYU in its 21-3 defeat of New Mexico. On the day Santiago had five punts for an average of 43.2 yards per kick, including two punts of 46 yards.
Santiago was key in helping BYU win the field-position battle all day. Three of his first four punts were downed inside the Wyoming 20 yard line — the first at the 6-yard line, the second at the 10 and the third again at the 6-yard line.
Thanks to Santiago, BYU is leading the MWC in punting and is ranked 10th nationally.
Kayla Walker – Volleyball – Junior – Kaysville, Utah
Junior outside hitter Kayla Walker had a solid weekend for the Cougars as she was second on the team in kills (2.86) and digs (2.71) while coming in third in blocks (1.14) per set. Against San Diego State on Thursday, the Pepperdine transfer posted the first double-double by a Cougar since Sept. 13 and her third of the year with 13 kills and 14 digs. Her .323 hitting percentage in the match also led all Cougars with a minimum of 10 attempts. Her seven kills against UNLV was second on the team. Her all-around effort also resulted in four blocks in each match.
Kassidy Christensen – Soccer – Sophomore – Bountiful, Utah
Christensen provided a consistent offensive threat for the Cougars and helped them continue their success at home this season. She scored her fourth goal of the season against San Diego State to help BYU to the win. She stretched the defense in both games, and allowed other forwards on the team to take advantage of open looks.
Jessica Carter – Soccer – Senior – Provo, Utah
Carter was the keystone in a defense that limited UNLV and SDSU to 11 shots total and no goals. Coming into the game, UNLV had scored 26 goals and had 208 shots in 13 games, while SDSU had 18 goals in 13 games and 155 shots. Carter played the majority of each game., and helped check UNLV’s Ashleigh Shoguro, who had scored seven goals on the season, and SDSU’s Cat Walker, who had four goals in 2008.
Jade Bollinger -- Golf -- Sophomore -- Wellington, Fla.
Jade Bollinger, a sophomore from Wellington, Florida, gradually improved her number of strokes taken in each successive round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Sammamish, Wash. Starting the tournament on a rough note with a +13 85 in round one, Bollinger came back to earn a +8 80 in round two and a +3 75 for round three, improving each round by five strokes and leading the team with the best score in the final round. She birdied two holes and had just five bogeys for the day. Bollinger finished the tournament at No. 37 individually, helping the team to an 8th-place finish.
