OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – BYU senior right fielder Brock Hale has been selected as one of 10 finalists for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award in collegiate baseball.

An All-West Coast Conference First Team selection last year, Hale currently has 34 hits, 32 runs, seven doubles, seven home runs, 25 RBIs and 24 walks this season, helping BYU to a 22-8 record. Among active Division I players, the senior has career ranks of No. 9 in slugging percentage, No. 10 in on-base percentage and No. 17 in batting average. Hale was named a Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week and WCC Player of the Week two weeks ago after going 8-for-16 and hitting four home runs in four wins over Oregon and Saint Mary's.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Finalists were chosen by national media from the list of 30 candidates announced in March. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help select the winner. Fans are encouraged to vote on the Senior CLASS Award website through June 10. Fan votes will be combined with media and Division I head coaches’ votes to determine the winner. This year’s Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2019 College World Series in June. For more information on all of the finalists, visit seniorCLASSaward.com.
