PROVO, Utah - With the season opener less than two weeks away, the BYU football team continued to work hard as fall camp winds down for the 2011 season.

Yesterday's morning practice session saw the defense dominate while the offense struggled to find a rhythm. Today was balanced as both the offense and the defense made plays.

"It was a nice practice today. It was sharp on both sides today and a big step up from yesterday," head coach Bronco Mendenhall said. "It was a really good practice considering where we are in camp. I was pleased."

Quarterback Jake Heaps was unsuccessful in finding the end zone on his first drive of the team series. The offense settled on Justin Sorensen making a 43-yard field goal. Sorensen went on to make two more from 43 for extra practice.

In another series, quarterback Riley Nelson also failed to get the ball in the end zone but Sorensen was there again, this time to make a 36-yarder.

On his last series, Heaps was able to get the passing game going, completing 3-of-3 passes for 29 yards on the drive. Receiver Dallin Cutler caught a seven-yard touchdown pass for the score.
