BYU faces San Francisco in WCC Quarterfinal action

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – BYU returns to action at the West Coast Conference Tournament on Saturday, March 5, when the Cougars face San Francisco in the first of two quarterfinals at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. MST.

Saturday’s contest will be broadcast on ESPN2. It will also be broadcast live on BYU Sports Network and BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143/89.1 FM HD2 and KSL 102.7 FM/1160 AM.

BYU Notes (22-9, 9-6 West Coast Conference)

  • BYU picked up its 22nd win of the season on Friday with a 85-60 victory over Loyola Marymount in the second round of the WCC Tournament.
  • Alex Barcello scored a team-high 22 points for the Cougars as the Chandler, Ariz. native became the seventh player in program history to make 80 or more 3-pointers in a single season.
  • Fousseyni Traore recorded his eighth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. His six offensive rebounds against the Lions are the sixth-most by a freshman in a game in program history.

  • Jamaree Bouyea and Khalil Shabazz are one of the best backcourts in the nation as they average a combined 30.4 points per game.
  • Yauhen Massalaski controls the post for the Dons as he is nearly averaging a double-double with 13.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
