SAN BRUNO, Calif. – For the second time this season, BYU swept the weekly West Coast Conference awards with McKenna Bull winning pitcher of the week and Libby Sugg winning player of the week.

Bull, the reigning two-time WCC Pitcher of the Year, has picked up her 13th WCC Pitcher of the Week honor in her career, second of the year. For Sugg, this is her first WCC Player of the Week nod. She was named to the 2016 All-WCC Second Team.

Bull won all three games she started at the San Diego Classic I, picking up victories over San Diego State, Miami University and Boston University. In the 6-2 win over Miami, she broke the BYU record for strikeouts in a career, surpassing Paige Affleck's 803 after notching a season-high 11 strikeouts. By the end of the weekend, Bull upped her total to 808. She also picked up another shutout victory, leading the Cougars to a 9-0 win in five innings over Boston U. Over 21.0 innings pitched, she had a 0.33 ERA and 25 strikeouts while allowing just one earned run.

Sugg led BYU at the plate in the San Diego Classic I, earning a .467 batting average in all five games played. Against Boston U., she hit a grand slam, the second of her career. She led the team in hits (7), doubles (4), home runs (2) and slugging percentage (1.133). She also tied for the most runs over the weekend with six.
