Before BYU

Prepped at Alta High where he was the National Freedom Foundation recipient...captained baseball team as a junior and senior and was first team all-state and all-region...won gold medal with the U.S. Olympic Festival fast pitch softball team in 1995.


Started at second, short and third last season ... started 30 of his 45 games and batted .289 ... had a six-game hitting streak at the beginning of the season.
