Career Summary

McKenna Bull finished her career as the most successful pitcher in BYU history. She holds the top spot for single season and career records in wins, complete games, shutouts, saves, innings pitched and strikeouts. She also finished in the top three in ERA, strikeouts per seven innings and opponent batting average. Additionally, in her senior season she threw 57.2-consecutive scoreless innings, a BYU record. Bull was the main workhorse through the toughest schedules that BYU softball has played. In the WCC, she was pitcher of the week 17 total times, including nine in 2017. She was the WCC Pitcher of the Year for three-straight seasons (2015-17) along with being named to the All-WCC First Team in each of those seasons as well. In all four seasons, Bull helped the Cougars win the WCC championship and advance to NCAA Regionals. Additionally, she received NFCA All-Pacific Region honors in each season, being named to the first team as a senior.

  • Played for the Salt Lake Pegasus and helped them to a first place finish in the 2013 Colorado Fireworks tournament. In 2012 she helped the Pegasus win the Western Nationals in Arizona.

  • Held Idaho State’s No. 11 scoring offense to two runs in a 9-2 victory.
  • Pitched a combined no hitter with teammates Tori Almond and Ashley Thompson against UVU.
  • Pitched a complete game one-hitter against Pacific after recording a save in two scoreless innings in the first game of the day.
  • Ranks first in WCC in victories (16)
  • Ranks first in the WCC and NCAA in saves (7)
  • Ranks 46th in NCAA in strikeouts (206) and 25th in strikeouts per seven innings (8.3)
  • Became the fourth BYU pitcher to strikeout over 200 batters in a single season finishing sixth at BYU with 206 and also breaking BYU's previous freshman record of 134 strikeouts.
