BYU provides an opportunity for student-athletes to grow mentally, physically and spiritually. The mission of the nation’s largest private institution is to “to assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life.” To this end, BYU seeks to develop students of faith, intellect, and character who have the skills and the desire to continue learning and to serve others throughout their lives. Likewise, the mission of the BYU football program is, “To be the flag bearer of Brigham Young University through football excellence, embracing truth, tradition, virtue and honor as a beacon to the world.”
