BYU Men's Volleyball FAQ

How has BYU fared in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation?

BYU has finished in the top 6 each of the past 11 years, including first-place finishes in 1999, 2001, 2004 and 2013. Forty-five players have earned All-Conference honors since the MPSF began in 1992.

What is the MPSF?

Established in 1992, the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) unites the Big West, PAC-10, Mountain West, Western Athletic and West Coast Conferences and other selected universities in the western United States, to provide championship competition for Division I intercollegiate Olympic sports in a conference setting.

The MPSF was originally formed to provide enhanced competition and championship opportunities for sports without conference affiliation; to contain the costs of competition; and to ensure the survival of sports impacted by Title IX and other fiscal pressures. In addition, the MPSF has also served as an incubator for emerging women's sports and as a safe harbor for sports impacted by conference realignments. For more information, see
