Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison for the athletic department with inside and outside entities
  • Complete special projects for the athletic director
  • Serve as a mentor and liaison for student athletes and coaches
  • Serve actively in the community to assist with BYU Athletics interaction with supporters and fans, building relationships and strengthening ties to the department

Personal/Family

  • Played for Highland Rugby and was named U.S.A M.V.P in the National Championship in 2002
  • Seventh-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals after completing his football career at BYU as a running back
  • After his contract was done with the Bengals, was picked up as a free agent by the New York Jets in 2012
  • Has retired from the NFL and is now dedicated to helping BYU’s student athletes
  • Fui and his wife Leonne Liaina are parents of their daughter Maiana Vakapuna
