Before BYU

  • Ranked the No. 12 defensive end in the west and No. 78 overall player in California
  • Named the 2011 Mother Lode League MVP, a 2011 all-area second team defense honoree
  • As a senior in 2011 caught 10 passs for 325 yards and four touchdowns while at defensive tackle recorded 70 tackles, two sacks, one fumble recovery which he returned 45 yards for a touchdown and returned an interception 50 yards for a score
  • As a junior notched 109 total tackles, five sacks, blocked two field goals and had one fumble recovery while recording eight receptions for 111 yards and one touchdown on offense
  • Was also an all-league performer in basketball in 2010 and 2011 as well as an adademic all-league performer both years
  • Honor roll all four years of high school served as the student body president as a senior
  • Was also recruited by Utah, Air Force, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, UCLA and Arizona
