As a sophomore, he had three interceptions in the 4A quarterfinal playoff game against East High School
In his junior season, he had 46 receptions for 737 yards and nine touchdowns on offense, and 36 tackles and six interceptions on defense
As a senior, he recorded 58 receptions for 904 yards and 10 touchdowns to go along with 36 tackles and two interceptions
In addition to playing safety, cornerback and wide receiver, he also ran the ball a few times, threw one pass for 45 yards and fielded punt returns
Named to the Deseret News 4A All-State second team as a junior and the first team as a senior
Was also a three-year starter for the Mustang's basketball team. He was named the All-Valley Player of the Year and Region 5 MVP, and made the All-State first team his junior and senior seasons while averaging 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game
