  • Younger brother of former BYU offensive lineman Braden Brown
  • Another brother, Les, played basketball at Westminster College
  • Originally signed with Utah State
  • Recruited by Kansas, LSU, Maryland, Utah and Utah State
  • Served an LDS church mission to Adriatic North Mission

Before BYU

  • Named the all-Valley Offensive MVP by the Provo Daily Herald
  • A first-team all-state selection by both the Salt Lake Tribune and the Deseret News
  • Threw for 2,185 yards and 23 TDs while rushing for 854 yards and 17 TDs to lead Timpview to its fourth-straight 4A state championship, finishing season with an 11-2 record
  • Was 17-of-21 for 196 yards with one TD in debut as starter
  • Guided the Thunderbirds to their sixth region title in a row
  • Transferred to Timpview prior to junior season from East HS
