Cougars tied for first after 36 holes at Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational

BYU women’s golf is tied for first after the opening 36 holes of the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational on Monday.

MANHATTAN, Kansas — BYU women’s golf is tied for first after the opening 36 holes of the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational on Monday.

The Cougars have carded rounds of 296 and 287 to tally 583 strokes and sit at 7-over-par.

Lily McCauley, BYU’s recent transfer from Washington State, leads the Cougars and is sitting in second place. With rounds of 73 and 68, McCauley is 3-under-par going into round three.

Senior Lila Galaei is in seventh place at 2-over-par (71-74–145) after carding six birdies in round two. MJ Barragan (78-70–148; +4) is tied for 14th, Adeline Anderson (74-75–149; +5) is tied for 18th and Lilly DeNunzio (79-80–159; +15) is tied for 48th.

Berlin Long, playing as an individual, is tied for 23rd at 7-over-par with rounds of 73 and 78.

The Cougars will tee it up with Sam Houston and Kansas State in the final round tomorrow beginning with an 8 a.m. CDT shotgun start. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com
