No. 4 BYU heads to Iowa for first-ever Big 12 Championship

PROVO, Utah — No. 4 BYU heads to Iowa for its first-ever Big 12 championship Saturday morning. 

BYU is entering the championship portion of the season after a win at the XC-23 Pre-Nationals in Virginia. Carmen Alder was the first women to cross the line in 19:36.2 as all five scoring Cougars finished in the top 10 and the team finished with just 32 points.

The Big 12 championship will be a 6,000-meter race run at the Iowa State Cross Country Course in Ames, Iowa. 

Three Big 12 teams enter the meet listed in the USTFCCCA top 30: BYU at No. 4, Oklahoma State at No. 6 and Iowa State at No. 17.

Following the Big 12 conference championship, BYU will travel to Lubbock, Texas for the NCAA Mountain Regional on Nov. 10.
